I really have to dig my real camera out of storage. This camera phone thing is killing me.
Just a few shots of the South Side.
The filming location for “Ray’s Music Exchange” in the Blues Brothers.
Here’s a side shot of the mural. In the movie it was supposed to be in the Maxwell Street Market but in reality it’s a few miles away.
Here’s a bad shot of the former J.C. Whitney-Warshawski warehouse and distribution building. It’s huge. It takes up about 8 City blocks.
The entrance would make you think Church but oddly it never was one.
Here’s a neat drawbridge over the South branch of the Chicago River.
And this is a former U.S. Army Depot. Ttyymmnn posted a vintage pic of this place a while back.
The old Westinghouse Electric building. At one time in Chicago anyone you met knew of at least one person that worked here.
And a bonus 1970 Chevy Bel-Air hiding in an alleyway.
This was a spur of the moment thing so maybe next time I’ll actually plan a route.
